One day a visitor came to Nasreddin's house. "I am your cousin from Konya," he said, "and I have brought you a duck to celebrate the visit." Nasreddin was delighted. He asked his wife to cook the duck, and served the visitor a fine dinner. The next day another visitor arrived. "I am the friend of the man who brought you the duck," he said. Nasreddin invited him in and gave him a good meal. The next day another visitor arrived, and said he was the friend of the friend of the man who had brought the duck. Again Nasreddin invited him in for a meal. However, he was getting annoyed. Visitors seemed to be using his house as a restaurant. Then another visitor came, and said he was the friend of the friend of the friend of the man who had brought the duck. Nasreddin invited him to eat dinner with him. His wife brought some soup to the table and the visitor tasted it. "What kind of soup is this?" asked the visitor. "It tastes just like warm water." "Ah!" said Nasreddin, "That is the soup of the soup of the soup of the duck."

He was laughing at the turtle for being so slow. Much to the rabbit's surprise, the turtle challenged him to a race. The rabbit thought this was a good joke and accepted the challenge. The fox was to be the umpire of the race. As the race began, the rabbit raced way ahead of the turtle, just like everyone thought. The rabbit got to the halfway point and could not see the turtle anywhere. He was hot and tired and decided to stop and take a short nap. Even if the turtle passed him, he would be able to race to the finish line ahead of him. All this time the turtle kept walking step by step by step. He never quit no matter how hot or tired he got. He just kept going. However, the rabbit slept longer than he had thought and woke up. He could not see the turtle anywhere! THE TURTLE A crow was sitting on a branch of a tree with a piece of cheese in its beak when a fox came up and saw him. He really wanted that cheese for himself. If only his voice was as beautiful as his feathers, he would be the best bird there could be!” The crow was flattered with this and opened his beak to show the fox how beautifully he could sing. Of course, the cheese fell to the ground. The fox grabbed it and said, laughing, “You have a voice, I can see. The Mice In Council One day a group of mice decided to call a meeting to see what they could do about the cat which was always trying to catch them. All the mice thought this was an excellent idea. However, an older mouse got up and spoke, "This is a really good idea but who is going to tie the bell around the cat's neck?" What is a council? We will none of us ever eat each other again but live in peace. Why don’t you come down and we can talk about this great news?” The rooster knew what kind of animal the fox was. He knew the fox was trying to trick him. So he decided to trick him back. He looked very closely at something far in the distance. “What are you looking at up there?” asked the fox. “I think I see a pack of dogs coming this way on a fox hunt.” “Well, if that is the case, I better be off,” said the fox. ”But why would you be afraid of dogs in a time of peace like this?” asked the clever rooster. “I am not sure they have heard about the new agreement of peace,” he said and took off. The rooster was way up in a tree R/   crowing loudly. The fox ran to the rooster to get a R/   chicken dinner. The universal peace agreement means R/   no animals will eat each other. Mrs Smith is going shopping with her son. They are looking for a present for Mr Smith's birthday. Mrs Smith wants to buy him a new camera and Tom wants to buy him a jumper. They drive to the department store on the high street. Mrs Smith uses the escalator to go to the Electrical Department on the third floor and Tom takes the stairs up to the Men's Clothing Department on the first floor. When she gets to the Electrical Department she finds that cameras are sold in the Photography Department on the ground floor. She takes the elevator down and asks the sales assistant there for some help. She doesn't know much about cameras and needs some advice. He recommends an automatic camera by Olympus, but it is too expensive. She asks him if he has anything a little cheaper and he tells her about a special offer on the Pentax range. It still seems expensive so she thanks the assistant and decides to shop around first. Meanwhile, Tom is looking at the jumpers. He only has £10 to spend so he can't afford most of them. He sees his mother and they decide to go to the smaller shops round the corner. What department does Tom go to? R/The Men's Clothing Deparment. The lion just kept trying to hit the gnat with his big paw. All he did was scratch himself with his great claws. The gnat laughed and flew between the big paws and stung the lion on the nose. He then buzzed away laughing at how he had stung the great lion. However, he was so busy thinking of how he would boast that he did not see the spider web. He got stuck in the web of a little spider and that was the end of him. The gnat kept flying around the lion and made the lion R/ angry The gnat kept buzzing around the lion to R/   make him angry. After the first had saved himself by climbing a tree, the other, knowing he had no chance against the bear by himself, lay on the ground as if he was dead. His friend climbed down from the tree and asked, “What was the bear whispering in your ear” “Oh, he just said I should think twice about traveling with people who run out on their friends.” How many were traveling together when they met the bear? Bradley Wiggins In Line For Freedom Of Westminster There are calls for Bradley Wiggins to be given the Freedom of the City of Westminster after his historic Tour de France win. The 32-year-old cyclist sealed Britain's first Tour victory on Sunday and now councillors want to honour him. He grew up in Maida Vale and used places such as Hyde Park and Paddington Recreation Ground to train in. A Westminster City Council spokesman said giving Wiggins the award "is something we are keenly looking at". 'Great role model' Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, leader of Westminster Council's Labour group, said: "Bradley Wiggins is the most fantastic sportsman and it all started in Maida Vale. "Westminster City Council should honour this most dedicated sportsman for his achievement as the first Briton to win the Tour de France, as well as his magnificent Olympic medals. "Bradley Wiggins is a great role model for young people and the council should award this honour in Olympic year 2012." One of the Maida Vale councillors, Alastair Moss, Conservative, said: "Bradley Wiggins has scored a historic sporting victory and inspired huge pride across the country - no more so than in his home turf of Westminster and Maida Vale. "Recognising Bradley's outstanding achievement through the Freedom of Westminster award is something we are keenly looking at." Wiggins now lives in Lancashire. In 1981 the royal wedding between Prince Charles and Lady Diana was celebrated there. The London home of the Queen is Buckingham Palace where you can see the "Changing of the Guards". The coronation of the Kings and Queens takes place in Westminster Abbey. Near this enormous church there are the Houses of Parliament, the seat of the British government. They consist of a group of buildings, among them St. Stephen's Tower, the famous clock tower housing Big Ben, one of the world's biggest bells. Not far from the Houses of Parliament there is Trafalgar Square with Lord Nelson's Column, erected in the memory of Admiral Nelson, who won against the Spanish in the Battle of Trafalgar. London is also famous for its parks. There is Hyde Park, there is St. James's Park, which is the oldest and there is Regent's Park, which houses the London Zoo. In former times all the parks were royal gardens. Apart from sightseeing tourists also love shopping in London.
